Many of the University of North Georgia athletic teams performed well this past year while others look to improve upon last year’s performance.
Sophomore Caroline Martin, from the women’s basketball team, said that serious preparation and hard work in practice were some of the keys to their success; hopefully, all of the program’s teams will take note of their accomplishments and struggles from last season and use them to improve this upcoming season.

The most notable and successful seasons were the softball team, who made the NCAA championships for the second year in a row and the women’s basketball team, who made the NCAA nationals for the second time in three years.
In the first week of school, women’s soccer will play twice, on Thursday at 1 p.m. against UNC Pembroke and Saturday at 5 p.m. against Anderson. Both games are at home. Men’s soccer also plays at home on Thursday against Lee University at 7 p.m. On Sunday, men’s soccer will play away against University of Alabama Huntsville at 3 p.m.
No matter what happens, this year should be very exciting for Nighthawks fans.
