The University of North Georgia’s Panhellenic Conference hosted formal sorority recruitment this past weekend. 209 women accepted a bid from one of the six sororities on campus. These sororities include Alpha Gamma Delta, Delta Phi Epsilon, Delta Zeta, Kappa Delta, Phi Mu and Sigma Kappa.
Each sorority serves their own philanthropy, but they have different local and national philanthropies. This past March, Kappa Delta raised over $31,500 for South Enotah CAC & PCAA during their Run Dahlonega 5K event.
Aside from the charitable work sororities do, they also bond sisterhoods for life. Many women meet their best friends and future bridesmaids within a sorority. Being in Greek life provides women with an incredible support system.

There are plenty of leadership opportunities within Greek life. From serving on a sorority’s executive board to serving on Panhellenic. Holding a leadership position is beneficial for personal and professional development. It can help build a community of connections.

While joining Greek life can be intimidating, the benefits are far more rewarding. There is more to sorority life than what meets the eye. The steadfast sisterhood, leadership development and never-ending philanthropic work.
