This December, the University of North Georgia will be adding hundreds of alumni. With the graduation application deadline coming up, it’s time to get ready.
This year, UNG will hold two commencement ceremonies at the UNG Convocation Center in Dahlonega. They will be on Dec. 9 and Dec. 10. In case there is extreme weather, the university has Dec. 11 as a back-up date.
The two commencement ceremonies will be broken up by colleges found at UNG.
Before a graduate can walk across the stage though, there are a few last prerequisites.
Everyone graduating this semester needs to make sure to apply for graduation by Sept. 18.
To do this, review your DegreeWorks to make sure everything is completed, after that, log in to banner and complete the online application. There will be a $55 fee that needs to be paid by Oct. 18.
If you do not complete the application by the required date, you can still graduate, but you may not be able to participate in the ceremony.
Once you complete your application, you can order your regalia at Herff Jones. It will be sent to the bookstore for you to pick up.
Tickets will be required for guests, family and friends. Graduates will receive a link via email to reserve tickets.
The day of the ceremony, graduates are expected to arrive at least an hour early. All graduates are to park at Radar Ridge Rec Fields Lot, and a shuttle will take them to the Convocation Center. There will be no rehearsal, and everyone will be seated by degree. A photographer will be stationed on the right side of the stage, and pictures will be sent to graduates a week after the ceremony.
The keynote speakers and student speakers are yet announced.
There will be a YouTube livestream, for family and friends who will not be able to attend in person.
