It’s Fall Break K-12 school systems in North Georgia. And for some students at the University of North Georgia, it’s a harsh reminder that we won’t get our break until late November, when we’re off Thanksgiving week.
Here is what some students had to say.
What is your favorite Fall Break memory?
“My favorite fall break memory is flying up to New York with the family and exploring the big city.” – Jaxon Evans, senior informational systems major.
“A good memory of mine was, my buddies and I going to downtown Chattanooga. The Fall weather was just a bonus.” – Cody Gibson, senior exercise science major.
“My favorite fall break memory was probably when I took a trip to Disney with my family one year. It was a great time to just relax and have a mental reset and get ready to finish the first semester.” – Micah Bennett, senior marketing major.
What did you look forward to most about Fall Break?
“I looked forward to being able to spend more time with my family and less time worrying about schoolwork.” – Jaxon Evans
“I looked forward to being able to relax and hang out with friends without worrying about school work or athletics. It was a good mental reset for me being a student athlete.” – Cody Gibson
“I always looked most forward to being able to spend time with friends and family and not have to worry about having anything going on. I had no homework or no class which was nice to get a break.” – Micah Bennett
Do you miss Fall Break at all?
“I miss fall break because it was a nice hiatus from all the studying and schoolwork needed. It always feels weird now because my parents work in the school system and have fall break off while I am stuck studying for exams.” – Jaxon Evans
“Yes, I obviously miss it because it was a full break from all responsibility.” – Cody Gibson
“I miss college in fall break and I think it is something that is important…[UNG] does a great job at keeping us engaged, but school can get stressful and repetitive. Having that break was a time to break up that repetitive cycle and get my mind back on track. I think that schools should try and implement more breaks like that if possible, because I think it makes students more plugged in after the break.” – Micah Bennett
