The organizer of an on-campus art exhibit is hoping you’ll make time to take in some beauty.
From Oct. 23 to Nov. 10, the University of North Georgia’s Time Frame Art History Club will be having an art exhibition in Hansford Hall Gallery at the UNG Dahlonega campus.
Junior studio art major, Niki Pett from the UNG Time Frame Art History Club says the “Consider the Wildflowers” show title comes from the Bible verse Luke 12:27, which reads, “Consider how the wildflowers grow; they do not labor or spin thread; yet I tell you not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these.”
Pett says, “This art exhibit is about taking a pause in life. I wanted to give fellow artists, viewers and faculty a chance to take a break from life’s punches and just take in what is around them. We get so busy with creating the lives we want for ourselves that we don’t take in the beauty around us.”
The show is still taking art submissions until Oct. 18. Pett says all two-dimensional art must be 36 inches by 48 inches or smaller, and three-dimensional art must be two feet by two feet or smaller.
