The University of North Georgia’s Dahlonega campus announced an “isolated incident” pertaining to a student death on Thursday, Oct. 31 at around 10 a.m.
Dr. Alyson Paul, Vice President of Student Engagement and Success, announced in a schoolwide email that Cadet Elijah “Eli” Rosser, junior international affairs and political science major on the Dahlonega campus, was the student lost.
Rosser was a member of the Boar’s Head Brigade, the Leadership Development Program and Color Guard. He was also an Orientation Leader and a very active student on the Dahlonega campus.
All classes will be canceled on Friday, Nov. 1, between 12 – 12:50 p.m. to allow students and faculty to honor and mourn the lives lost this semester on the Drill Field.
Counselors will be available during this time for students who are struggling with this sudden loss. The university encourages students and faculty to take advantage of the counseling and support services available at this time.
