The University of North Georgia’s Dahlonega campus announced an “isolated incident” pertaining to a student death on Thursday, Oct. 31 at around 10 a.m.
Dr. Alyson Paul, Vice President of Student Engagement and Success, announced in a schoolwide email that Cadet Elijah “Eli” Rosser, junior international affairs and political science major on the Dahlonega campus had died.
Rosser was a member of the Corps of Cadets Boar’s Head Brigade, the Leadership Development Program and Color Guard. He was also an Orientation Leader and a very active student on the Dahlonega campus.
All classes will be canceled Friday, Nov. 1, between noon – 12:50 p.m. to allow students and faculty to attend a gathering on the Drill Field to honor and mourn the three students who died this semester.
Counselors will be available during this time for students who are struggling with these losses. University representatives say they encourage students and faculty to take advantage of the counseling and support services.
