As the spring 2025 semester comes to a close, University of North Georgia seniors are preparing to wrap things up. For BFA students this means putting on their end-of-semester exhibition.

Held in the Bob Owens Art Gallery, the Kaleidoscope BFA Capstone Exhibition begins April 7, featuring works by Sara Blair, Jennie Bosman, Asher Brinke, Abigail Brown, Michael Greiner, Mitchell Greiner, Emma Jackson, Kaley Millet and Ella Whitfield.
Abigail Brown, a BFA drawing and painting student, says, “This is the culmination of all the seniors coming together and showing their final works of all the years they spent at UNG.” Work created with many different mediums, from paint to digital animations, will be featured.
“We’ve titled it Kaleidoscope because it’s so many different mediums coming together to form the exhibition, so it’s brightly colored and exciting.” – Abigail Brown, UNG BFA drawing and painting student
Every work featured in this exhibition has been created exclusively since the beginning of the semester, leading to accelerated deadlines that put these students to the test. “The hardest part was just getting a completed full body of work in half the time,” Brown said.

Some artists found their struggle coming not from the strict deadline but instead from the content of their work. For Ella Whitfield, a BFA ceramics and painting student, her biggest struggle for the exhibition was authenticity. “…This is actually based on my own childhood, so I’m being authentic to, and healing, my inner child.”
As seniors in this program, the works featured are made with very little assistance from instructors, allowing the artists to spread their creative wings.
For students looking to celebrate the opening of this exhibit, there will be a reception held on April 9. All artists featured in the exhibition will be present to answer any questions about their work. In addition, food will be provided to attendees. This exhibition will run from April 7 – 18, after which each artist showcased will have to defend their works.
