Say goodbye to the summer heat and hello to the autumn breeze. Students at the University of North Georgia are preparing for their favorite fall activities in Dahlonega.
Jenna Kate Welch, a senior business management major, grew up on the coastal side of Savannah, Georgia, then moved almost six hours away from home to North Georgia. Welch says, “Fall does not really exist in Savannah, so the transition to a small mountain town with pretty trees and cool weather has been one of my favorite parts of moving to college.”
Kaylie Morgan, a UNG alumni, has spent the past five fall seasons in Dahlonega. She says, “My ideal day in the fall is going to Jethros and grabbing a hot pumpkin latte then going to Amicalola to sit and read while looking out at the mountains.”
Andrew Ortiz, a senior information systems major, says, “I love watching college football and going on a hike at Rabun Cliff Fall trail in Cleveland.”
Claudia Russell, a senior marketing major, “I love reading a book outside on my porch while drinking a hot apple cider. I also love going on a walk to Pueblos with my roommates to end the day off with Mexican food.”
Trevor Jones, a senior kinesiology major, “Me and my friends occasionally host a cookout then we all watch college football together on Saturdays.”
From crisp hikes in the mountains to cozy cups of cider and football Saturdays, fall in Dahlonega brings UNG students together.
