The Disney College Program is a paid internship that allows students to learn professionalism and gain hands-on work experience while still attending school. DCP is for college students at least one semester in or two years post-grad.
The University of North Georgia senior, Kaylynn Crump, has always felt a sense of belonging at Walt Disney World.
“When I was little, we went every year until COVID-19 hit. It was the only place my grandpa would vacation. He would only go to Disney World,” said Crump. “It is very special to me and has always felt like home because of that.”

Crump vacationed at Disney World in Spring 2025. After seeing several DCP name tags on cast members, she decided to go for it and apply for the program.
“I thought it was an amazing opportunity to create magic for others the way the magic has been created for me when I go. Also, it’s a great resume booster and the experience itself.” – Kaylynn Crump, senior Interdisciplinary Studies
To apply, go to Disney’s Career page. The application is similar to a job application. You will fill out your work preferences for the parks. Filling everything out takes about 15 minutes.
After Crump submitted her application, she received an email hours later to set up a 30-minute phone interview. It is a basic interview for Disney employers to learn about you, why you want to do the program and what roles you want.
“I interviewed on a Tuesday and then I got my acceptance on a Thursday,” Crump stated.

The length of the program is anywhere between four and eight months in Orlando, Fl. In some cases, students extend up to a year. Students are offered housing through Disney along with transportation to the parks.
“They have an apartment complex. You don’t have to live there but it’s one of the cheaper options in Orlando. Eight weeks before you go, you get an email, and you rank your preferences for what room you want. You can live in a 2×2, but every room has four people in it.” – Kaylynn Crump
The complex also offers a 4×2 where you have your own bedroom and share a bathroom. There are 4×4 apartments that usually go to people with medical accommodations.
