Dahlonega Does Desserts
Dahlonega is celebrating dessert.
Because the city has so many dessert shops, the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber and Visitors Bureau created the annual Dahlonega Chocolate Crawl in 2021.
This year, anyone interested in participating in the event can find a specially made “passport” that tracks the sweet treat spot throughout the square March 6-12. The Fudge Factory in the square has been a staple destination for people with a sweet tooth since 1982. Connie’s Ice Cream, Thomas Paul Chocolates, and Picnic Café and Dessertery, as well as others, have moved into the square and quickly became a part of the community.
Hannah Wilson, a communications major on the Gainesville campus, says, “Some friends told me about the chocolate crawl so a few of us from Gainesville decided to check it out. It was super cute and a fun way to see Dahlonega.”
The participating establishments include Crown and Bear, My Vintage Gypsy Teas, Connie’s Ice Cream, Paul Thomas Chocolates, Bourbon Street Grille, The Spice andTea Exchange, The Fudge Factory, The Picnic Café and Dessertery and Shenanigans Irish Pub
