The University of North Georgia’s Dahlonega campus is bringing back the Writer’s Guild, a student-led club where lovers of creative writing share their ideas and writings with each other. The club will meet once or twice a week, and participants can bring any pieces of writing that they want feedback on, need ideas for, or are simply proud of and wish to share.
For the first time, the club will work with a faculty sponsor, Professor Jeremiah Johnson. He says the goal of the Writer’s Guild is for students to hone their skills as creative writers, drawing encouragement and inspiration from their peers.
The Writer’s Guild is open to students of all majors. Johnson says students participating in the Writer’s Guild will grow in confidence and will sharpen their technique as creative writers, as well as helping others to do so within a community of writers.
