The University of North Georgia Alumni Association says it raised close to $5,000 at its fourth annual UNG night at the Braves game. More than 800 tickets were sold to students, families and alumni who came together to watch the Sept. 7 game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Money from ticket sales goes to support the UNG Alumni Association. Since the first UNG night in 2021, the event has become one of the Alumni Association’s most popular events, and thousands of students and families have been able to attend a Braves game. The UNG community was encouraged to wear blue and gold to the game to show off their school pride.
Phoenix Borrego, UNG senior majoring in communications, and her friends attended the game at Truist Park as a part of UNG night. About the experience, Borrego said, “It was so much fun sitting with a community of people you know and walking around the stadium and constantly running into people at random spots!”
The Braves played hard in game two of their three-game series but ended the night with a 4-run loss to the Blue Jays, with a final score of 9-5. The Braves went on to win their next game against the Blue Jays on Sept. 8, securing two wins out of the three-game series.
