Every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. the city of Cumming holds a farmers market in the Cumming City center. This community of vendors range from handmade bookmarks and book covers, to home-made fruit jams and freshly baked items. Vendors vary from weekend to weekend, weather permitting.

Vivian, vendor of “The Chunky Chipmunk” jams explains how every vendor is required to “make, bake, or grow their products.”, which is one of the reasons she believes customers keep coming back. Vivian also emphasized how this market is completely community run.
This market is in the Vision Parkway parking lot and is easily accessible from the center of Cumming. Parking is available in this lot as well as parallel parking on Vision Parkway.
This market happens year round, and has consistently been at the Cumming City Center for over a year. Prior to the businesses opening in the city center, the vendors still found use in the empty lot.
This is a free event to attend and is family-friendly. The market is also pet-friendly, and has vendors selling dog treats. Prices range typically from $1-20, with most vendors accepting cash, card, Venmo or Cashapp.
Ready-to-eat food was available on site, such as freshly baked goods, empanadas, churros, and breads. Some vendors offered fresh samples to try before you buy.
Jessica from Grove Creations explains how her passion for crafting started in December and “kind of stuck” which led her to open her own table at this market. She sells homemade bookmarks, passport covers and book covers.
“Creating is key”, she explains how this hobby has created more fun in her own life. Jessica emphasizes how market audiences are so specific, with the general audience looking for locally made items, which is the perfect outlet for her handmade products.

Each vendor has their own story and the products to go along with it. Multiple vendors have been selling for over five years, with no plan to stop. The community is strong within the vendors and locals, and continues to grow.
Post-March, the Summer Market opens on Wednesday and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.. Seasonal produce is available during the warmer months.
