With basketball, wiffle ball, flag football and more,

intramural sports on all UNG campuses allow students to play sports in a recreational setting.
Andrew “Bucky” Barnes, a senior kinesiology major, has been involved with intramurals both recreationally and as a referee. Barnes says, “Students should do intramurals because it gives students the chance to be active and it provides a great community.” Barnes is on an intramural basketball team named “Taco Bell Craving Box,” but he has been involved with UNG’s intramural wiffle ball, ultimate frisbee, kickball and flag football. Barnes says his favorite memory is winning the wiffle ball tournament last season.

Tyler Hahn, a freshman business major, also plays intramurals such as flag football, ultimate frisbee and basketball. Hahn says, “I enjoy playing intramural sports because it helps me to stay active, and I can also have fellowship with my buddies.” While balancing academics and extracurricular activities, Hahn says he has been able to stay consistent with his friend group by participating in intramurals.
The crowd attending games often reaches over 100 people who watch and cheer on their friends. Stephanie Mendoza, a senior biology major, says, “Even though I am not a part of a current team, I love coming to the games because there is always high energy and great memories from the student section.” Mendoza encourages students to attend an intramural game at least once because of the community atmosphere the games provide.
You can find the schedule for intramural sports through IMLeagues or the UNG REC Center.

phoenix, this is an amazing article. I have never seen such exquisite writing from a student before. Beyond the talents on a junior in College. You should go into the journalism field. So proud of you.
