As the semester rolls toward midterms, so does stress and anxiety for many students.
Claudia Mueller, a chiropractor for Murrayville Family Chiropractic, says as a physical result of stress, muscles in the neck, shoulders and back begin to tighten. This is often worsened by long hours hunching over desks or phones, leading to poor posture.
To help relieve that, Mueller began offering UNG students an opportunity to receive free adjustments. Mueller has been a chiropractor for 31 years, and she says, “I love my job because it’s not just a job, it’s my mission, field and way of life.”
Mueller says, “My favorite thing about serving at UNG is getting to know the students. Helping them be their best and healthiest selves. Teaching them that the power that heals and strengthens them is always within them.”
Landon Greene, a junior kinesiology major, has been attending these free sessions for the past year. Greene says, “She is such a sweet lady, so being able to talk through what’s going on in my life has been pleasant, also my back feels fantastic.”
Mueller says adjustments help clear nerve interferences and allow for a better expression of health and well-being. She says all your systems work better together with full power supplying them.
Leah Kennedy, a sophomore business management major, says, “Attending these sessions has benefited me by helping my back pain in class which makes me focus better and not focus on my pain.”
Mueller hosts free adjustments every Tuesday from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the BCM house at 66 S. Park Street in Dahlonega.
