Each of the University of North Georgia’s five campuses will be holding a separate Weeks of Welcome (WOW) celebration to entertain students both new and old, including Blue Ridge.
Blue Ridge’s WOW celebration will last from Monday Aug. 12 until Friday Aug. 23. Sandy Ott, the Blue Ridge campus’ Executive Director, said that “engages our students and gives them a chance to participate in events outside the classroom from day one.” Ott added that these events aim to keep students on campus for more than just classes to promote a sense of community.
Prominent among these events are the “Nighthawk Kick-Off” on Aug. 21 and the multiple bocce ball events, Blue Ridge’s favorite pastime according to Ott.
