Gambling on college campuses is usually frowned upon but the University of North Georgia’s Nighthawks Entertainment encouraging it. Casino Night will take place on Sept. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Robinson Ballroom at the student center on the Gainesville campus.
The semi-formal event is the first to kickstart the university’s 150th anniversary, encouraging all students, faculty, and staff members to attend.

Casino Night is the first after hours event for this semester. Professional dealers will oversee two tables of Blackjack, and one table each for Roulette, Craps, Texas Hold’em, and Bingo. The event will have a vast variety of refreshments to choose from, including a charcuterie table and desert bar. Students can also participate in other activities like the photo booth.
Ingles said that there will be four gift basket giveaways students can enter during the event. The themes of the gift baskets include a coffee, campfire, lunch bag, and UNG promotional items. There will also be a limited number of T-shirts available at the door for students attending.
To attend, students will need to bring a physical copy of their Nighthawks ID card.
There are four main events to take place after Casino Night to celebrate the university’s 150 university.
An Escape Room event will take place on Oct. 6 from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Robinson Ballroom at the student center on the Gainesville campus.
Fall Fest will be on Oct. 28 from 6:30 to 10:30 pm. at G.W. Bailey Amphitheater on Gainesville Campus which will include a movie and a campfire.
On Nov. 16, a hypnotist will come and help out the students in the cafeteria on Gainesville campus from 12 to 1 p.m.
Dec. 6, De-Stress Fest will be the last event to wrap up this semester. De-Stress Fest will be at the Robinson Ballroom on Gainesville campus from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
