ATL Valentine’s Day Activities

ATL+Valentines+Day+Activities

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and many businesses are preparing fun events. Atlanta has a variety of retail stores and restaurants organizing their own celebrations.

The Avalon and the Georgia Aquarium have created events for friends and lovers to celebrate the holiday.

The aquarium is hosting a valentine’s event called “Sips Under the Sea” on Feb. 11. It will be a cocktail party for those over 21 with exclusive dining options, a bar, and the opportunity to spend the night in the aquarium.

Three sets of tickets are being offered, all with access to different activities. General admission tickets grant you access to dining options in Café Aquaria. VIP tickets include everything from the general admission plus three drink tickets for the bar. The overnight package contains all activities from the other options and allows you to spend the night.

The Avalon will also be preparing a “Galentine’s” day celebration along the Boulevard. This is an annual event they hold specifically for women and their friends.

“Grab your girl gang for an early Valentine’s Day celebration along the Boulevard! Whether you’re single or taken, there’s always a reason to show some love plus raise a toast with your gals.” – The Avalon

Most stores and restaurants are giving out complimentary gifts and discounts in the Avalon. Barleygarden Kitchen + Craft Bar, Marlows Tavern, and Colletata are providing free drinks and appetizers. American Threads and fab’rik are doing BOGO discounts on apparel.

Two workshops are being offered that you can do with your friends that include a complimentary glass of wine courtesy of The Avalon. A modern beginners calligraphy class for $65 per person and a soy-wax candle making workshop for $36 per person.

The Avalon has also announced that they will be giving out special Valentine’s Day gifts to the first 300 people to visit concierge.

Ponce City Market down in Atlanta is organizing many events for the holiday as well.

On Feb. 13-14, there will be a pop-up photo bus decorated in valentine themed decorations such as balloons, string lights, and interactive props.

The valentine sunset igloo will also be returning this year on Feb. 12-14. These igloos are located on 9 mile station in Ponce de Leon Ave. and overlook the Atlanta perimeter skyline at sunset. Tickets are $1,000 for a two and a half hour reservation which includes a five course menu organized by Chef Christian Evans, wine pairings and a bottle of champagne, and a complimentary bunch of roses.

If you don’t have plans for this weekend, do not hesitate to look into these upcoming events in the Atlanta area.
