On April 9, Alpha Gamma Delta held their annual philanthropy event. The event raises money and awareness for AGD’s national philanthropy, fighting hunger. Alpha Gam Jam is a lip sync battle between Greek organizations on Dahlonega’s campus. The theme this year was musical festival-inspired because of Coachella starting the day after Alpha Gam Jam.
Vice President of Philanthropy Caroline Powers stated, “This event is important to me because it brings Greek life together for such a good purpose. Without the Greek life community we have on campus, we wouldn’t be able to succeed as much as we have. It’s such an incredible event, and I am just so beyond blessed that I got to coordinate it this year!”
Last year, the event raised $4,325. This year, Alpha Gam Jam raised $5,812. According to Powers records, this is the most the event has ever raised. All funds raised go towards the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. The foundation creates grants to help keep food banks open and running.

“I’m VP of Philanthropy for Alpha Gamma Delta. It has impacted me by showing me what sisterhood truly is. Since taking on this role, I have gotten close to my sisters while also getting to learn what it takes to be a leader. It has shown me the importance of our philanthropy, fighting hunger and how true dedication can impact so much.” – Caroline Powers, Sophomore, Marketing
Best Overall was awarded to Delta Phi Epsilon. The Best Sorority award was awarded to Kappa Delta. The Best Fraternity award was awarded to Pi Kappa Alpha.
