Lina (Yoo-Min) Lee preformed on April 3, 2026 at The University of North Georgia in Gainesville. Preforming a duet with her duo partner Kaju Lee, Lina and Kaju are known for their imaginative style.
Lina has played at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and The Schubert Club. She has been broadcast on WFMT, WQXR, WORT, Medici.tv and other international media. She has spoken at international conferences: the European Piano Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. She is also has an active part in Love In Music, a nonprofit focused on providing underprivileged children with free classical music training.
Lina’s family was always supportive of her. “They believed in my dedication and growth,” she said. “Their support gave me both encouragement and strength.” Music was her way of connecting with others and herself. “I think storytelling in music is often empowered by memory, emotion and imagination,” Lina said. “Sometimes a piece brings back a specific feeling or season of life, and other times I am moved by the emotional world of the composer.”
Lina approaches each of her performances with honesty and empathy. She wants to create a welcoming environment for her audience to feel seen. She said, “More than anything, I want them to leave feeling something genuine, whether that is comfort, reflection, joy, longing or connection.”
Lina fell in love with music early on in her life. “That love deepened as I began to understand that music could express things beyond words.”
“What first began as learning an instrument gradually became a way of communicating, understanding myself and connecting with other people.” — Lina (Yoo-Min) Lee
Piano is now Lina’s job, but she keeps her love for music alive by being curious and trying new things. She said, “Discovering new repertoire, collaborating with others and remembering why I began in the first place. Teaching also renews that love for me, because it allows me to see music through fresh eyes.”

Lina showcases many of her performances on her website and youtube, offering viewers the chance to listen and insight into the different styles of playing.
Lina says many of her performances have shaped her. “Some of the most meaningful ones were not necessarily the largest or most prestigious, but the performances where I felt a deep connection with the audience and a strong sense of purpose in sharing the music… Those moments reminded me that performance is not only about presenting something polished, but about communication, vulnerability and human connection.”
Lina does not stop growing and reflecting. She encourages others to trust their desires and artistic process. “If I could give advice to my younger self, I would say: do not be so afraid of uncertainty, and do not measure your worth only by achievement.” Lina says, “Trust the process more. Growth often happens quietly, and not every meaningful step is visible right away. I would also remind myself that artistry is not about perfection. It is about honesty, courage and continuing to grow.”
